Pakistan Sugar Advisory Board decides to reduce sugar price by Rs 2 per kg
The Pakistan Sugar Advisory Board has decided to reduce the retail sugar price by Rs 2 per kilogram. During a meeting chaired by Minister for Industry and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, it was confirmed that the government’s benchmark for sugar export prices would remain unchanged. The minister emphasized that, despite a surplus in sugar, any price increase would be unacceptable.
The Pakistan Sugar Advisory Board has decided to lower the price of sugar by Rs 2 per kilogram.
During the meeting, chaired by Minister for Industry and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, participants reviewed the current sugar stock levels and pricing across the country.
As per media report, it was decided that the government’s benchmark for retail sugar price for export purpose will remain intact while Rs 2 reduction in the retail price of sugar was also announced.
The federal minister noted that there is a surplus of sugar in the country and emphasized that any increase in sugar prices would be unacceptable.
