Sugar prices in Pakistan have surged, with Karachi residents paying up to Rs 195 per kg — the highest in the country. The national average rose by Rs 25 in a week to Rs 181.59 per kg, compared to Rs 143.09 per kg during the same period last year.
The maximum price of sugar remains at Rs 195 per kg, and the citizens of Karachi are forced to buy the sugar at the most expensive rate across the country. The average rate of sugar increased by Rs 25 in a week across the country.
According to the Statistics Department, the average price of sugar in the country has increased to Rs 181.59 per kg; the average price of sugar till last week was Rs 181.34 per kg.
