Pakistan To Export 100,000 Tonnes Of Rice To Bangladesh

Pakistan has invited bids to procure up to 100,000 tonnes of rice for export to Bangladesh, with tenders due November 28 and shipments via Karachi Port within 45 days. The move comes as Pakistan seeks broader opportunities after declining rice exports and U.S. tariffs on Indian rice boosting potential demand.

KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Nov,25, 2025) Pakistan has initiated preparations to export 100,000 tonnes of rice to Bangladesh, as the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has formally issued a tender for the procurement of the required quantity.

According to TCP, the rice will be exported through the Karachi Port. The last date for submitting bids is November 28, with a minimum bid requirement of 25,000 tonnes and a maximum of 100,000 tonnes.

The terms specify that delivery must be completed within 45 days of the contract award.

Recently, Pakistan also offered Bangladesh the use of Karachi Port as a regional trade gateway for countries such as China and the Central Asian states.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s rice exports recorded a 28% decline during the first quarter of the current fiscal year. However, following the United States’ decision to impose a 50% tariff on several products, including Indian rice, new trade opportunities have emerged for Pakistan in the American market.
