Preparations for wheat procurement for the Rabi marketing year 2025-26 have been completed in the district. Additional District Magistrate Satyapriya Singh gave this information in a workshop organized in the Collectorate auditorium.

A total of 56 wheat procurement centers have been set up in the district. All centers will be online. The procurement will run from March 17 to June 15, 2025. The centers will remain open from 8 am to 8 pm.

Special attention will be paid to the convenience of the farmers. Drinking water, seating arrangements and vehicle parking facilities will be available at all the centres. Farmers can sell wheat at any centre as per their convenience. Farmers from neighbouring districts will also be able to sell their wheat at the nearest centres.

There will be no need for verification in wheat purchase up to 100 quintals. However, verification can be done after purchase. Action will be taken against the farmer for giving wrong information.

The purchase will be on ‘first come, first serve’ basis. Offline tokens will be given if more farmers arrive than the daily capacity of the center. Women, elderly and disabled farmers will get priority in weighing. Small and marginal farmers with less than 60 quintals of produce will also be given special priority.
