Prices of onions, edible oil go up
The prices of onions and edible oil increased while rice, atta and sugar remained pricey on the kitchen markets in the capital Dhaka over the week ending Friday.
Traders said that the prices of onions increased on the wholesale market while distributors increased the price of packaged soya bean oil over the week.
The prices of onions increased by Tk 5-10 a kilogram on the markets and the local variety of onions sold for Tk 120-130 a kilogram while the imported item sold for Tk 100-110 a kilogram on the day.
The price of packaged soya bean oil increased by Tk 2 a litre and a five-litre bottle sold for Tk 790-820.
Unpackaged soya bean oil sold for Tk 150-155 a litre while packaged item sold for Tk 170 a litre on the day.
