Raju Shetti Agitation: If factories do not pay Rs 400 for sugarcane broken last season by 02 October, sugar transport of factories will be stopped. Former MP Raju Shetty, the founder of Swabhimani Shetkar Sangathan, also warned that there will be an agitation by banging drums to wake up every factory. Shetty said that the agitation will be intensified from here on to get the right rate of sugarcane growers. Shetty also added that the direction of the agitation will be decided after October 2.

Raju Shetty was speaking at the time that the factories in Kolhapur and Sangli districts should get Rs 400 for the sugarcane of the previous season and that the factories should set up online forks or else they should not be given refining licenses.

Shetty said sugar mills have received good prices for refined sugar and by-products during the last season. Due to this, sugar mills have F. R. After paying P and deducting the cost of felling, transportation and processing, there is still money left over. The Someshwar Malegaon sugar mills in Pune district have deposited nearly Rs.500 per tonne in the second week to the farmers’ accounts.

Actually, the recovery of sugar factories in Sangli and Kolhapur district is more than factories in Pune district. Due to this, it is easily possible to pay Rs 400 per ton to factories in Sangli and Kolhapur districts. We will not leave this money. The factory has also benefited from ethanol. Factories are making profit by selling sugar and ethanol.

Shetty said, the sugar and by-products produced from sugarcane are going to be booming in the future as well and this will bring good income to the manufacturers. Increased inflation, skyrocketing prices of medicines, seeds and fertilizers have led to an incalculable increase in the cost of production. Due to this, the financial calculation of the sugarcane farmers has collapsed. This looting from the factory is going on with the policy of the government.

Sugarcane farmers have been demanding for digitization of weighing forks of all sugar mills for many years. But the government has not yet acted on it. Until the weighing forks of the sugar mills are online and digitized, the sugar mills should not be given a license for refining. Former MP Raju Shetty said that appropriate action should be taken immediately on this demand and the strike march of the sugarcane farmers should be taken into account, otherwise there will be a flare-up of agitation across the state.

On this occasion, Swabhimani Party’s State President Prof. Jalinder Patil, Savkar Madnaik, Janardhan Patil, Vaibhav Kamble, Ajit Powar, Rajendra Gadyanwar, Ram Shinde etc. were present among the farmers of Kolhapur Sangli district.
