Romania remains an important supplier of oilseeds for the EU-27 and other countries

The European Commission expects rapeseed imports to decrease in the EU in 2025/26 due to increased domestic production, particularly in Romania. The country achieved a record rapeseed harvest in 2025, significantly exceeding the five-year average.

Thus, Romania’s rapeseed exports are a record, also due to the higher demand for rapeseed oil in the EU.

However, Romanian sunflower harvest estimates continue to be revised downwards. Prices on the DAP and FOB Constanta basis are gradually rising, thanks to continued high rates of sunflower exports outside the EU.
