Russia exports rapeseed oil to India for the first time
In 2025, Russia exported rapeseed oil to India for the first time, supplying 1,500 tonnes worth $1.6 million, according to Zerno On-Line. India’s rapeseed oil imports surged nearly sevenfold to over $15 million in the first half of 2025, led by UAE shipments valued at $8 million.
According to expert estimates in 2025 Russia exported rapeseed oil to India for the first time on record – 1.5 thousand tons worth $1.6 million. Previously no shipments of this product had been recorded reports Zerno On-Line.
It is noted that according to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India the country began actively purchasing rapeseed oil in 2025. The leading exporter to India in the first 6 months of this year was the UAE which shipped products worth almost $8 million.
According to Indian customs data over the six-month period the country purchased rapeseed oil worth more than $15 million which is almost 7 times more than in the same period last year.
