Russia is in talks to supply 200,000–300,000 metric tons of wheat to the Philippines in the 2025/26 marketing year starting July 1. This is Russia’s second attempt to enter the market, which currently relies on U.S., Australian, and Brazilian wheat. Negotiations focus on pricing and harvest terms, according to Russian official Eduard Zernin.

Investing.com — Russia is negotiating to supply between 200,000 and 300,000 metric tons of wheat to the Philippines for the new marketing season starting July 1, according to a Russian official.

This represents Russia’s second attempt to enter the Philippine wheat market. The Philippines is the world’s eighth largest wheat importer, currently sourcing most of its wheat from the United States, Australia, and Brazil.

“If we can find a compromise regarding the new harvest, we can expect deliveries of 200,000–300,000 tons in the first year,” said Eduard Zernin, a member of Russia’s official negotiating delegation for the Philippines.
