Rythu bazaars to sell rice, dal at subsidisedrates
Andhra Pradesh’s civil supplies minister, Nadendla Manohar, launched a subsidized grocery initiative in Vijayawada on Thursday. The program aims to control price rises by offering quality rice and dal at reduced rates. Rice will be sold at a low price, while pulses will be available for ₹160 per kg. Other essentials like sugar and snacks will also be distributed at concessional rates through rythu markets. One person can purchase up to 1 kg of dal and 5 kg of rice per day.
Vijayawada: In an effort to control price rise of essential commodities, state govt has launched an initiative to supply quality groceries at subsidised rates.
On Thursday, civil supplies minister Nadendla Manohar inaugurated the subsidised sale of rice and dal at rythu bazaar in Vijayawada.
Govt is committed to provide essential commodities to the public at reduced prices, he said after inaugurating the first distribution counter at rythu bazaar in APIIC Colony, Vijayawada, in the presence of MLA Gadde Rammohan, civil supplies department officials and Krishna district representatives.
“Despite the challenging economic situation, efforts are being made to address the public’s needs.
Wholesale shopkeepers and retail traders will also participate in this initiative, to provide quality pulses at ₹160 per kg and rice at low prices. Additionally, other essential items like sugar and snacks will be distributed at concessional rates through rythu markets. One person can buy 1 kg toor dal and 5 kg rice per day,” he said.
