Saudi Arabia Purchases 455,000 Tons of Wheat in International Tender

Saudi Arabia has awarded the fourth wheat import batch of 2025, securing 455,000 tonnes from multiple global origins to maintain strategic stocks. Deliveries will arrive between December 2025 and January 2026 across Jeddah, Yanbu, and Dammam ports. Seventeen companies bid, with contracts awarded to three offering the lowest compliant prices.

The General Authority for Food Security has completed the award of the fourth batch of imported wheat for this year (2025), totaling 455,000 tons, to be sourced from the European Union, North and South America, Australia, and the Black Sea.

Eng. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Fares, Chairman of the Authority, stated today that the contracting for this batch comes within the framework of strengthening the strategic stock of wheat, maintaining it at safe levels, and meeting all the needs of milling companies.

He added that the branches of the National Grain Supply Company (Sabil) will receive the contracted quantities for the fourth batch, scheduled to arrive during the period (December 2025 – January 2026), with (7) ships, distributed over (2) ships for Jeddah Islamic Port with a quantity of (130) thousand tons, (3) ships for Yanbu Commercial Port with a quantity of (195) thousand tons, and (2) ships for King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with a quantity of (130) thousand tons. (17) qualified international companies specialized in grain trade competed for the required quantity, and the award was made to (3) companies whose offers were the lowest in price and conformed to the specifications.
