SECI signs MoU with H2Global to establish collaborative framework to promote Green Hydrogen initiatives
The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) signed an MoU with H2Global Stiftung to foster Green Hydrogen initiatives, emphasizing knowledge sharing and market-based mechanisms. Signed on November 19, 2024, the partnership aims to enhance joint tender designs and advance India’s ambition to become a global Green Hydrogen hub, while strengthening international cooperation and understanding of hydrogen market dynamics.
The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI), under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with H2Global Stiftung to establish a framework for promoting Green Hydrogen initiatives. The collaboration aims to enhance knowledge sharing on market-based mechanisms and foster cooperation between India and importing nations, contributing to the global development of the green hydrogen economy.
The MoU was signed on November 19, 2024, by Shri Sanjay Sharma, Director (Solar) at SECI, and Dr. Susana Moreira, Executive Director of H2Global. The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Mr. Timo Bollerhey, CEO of HintCo; Mr. Markus Exenberger, Executive Director of the H2 Global Foundation; Shri Prashant Kumar Singh, Secretary of MNRE; Shri Abhay Bhakare, Mission Director of NGHM; Dr. Prasad Chapekar, DS at MNRE; and Shri K R Jyothi Lal, ACS Kerala.
This partnership presents India with the opportunity to collaborate on joint tender designs, particularly in structuring tenders that align with India’s goal of becoming a global hub for Green Hydrogen and its derivatives. The collaboration is expected to provide valuable insights into global hydrogen market dynamics, including trade logistics and stakeholder engagement, which will be essential in advancing India’s green hydrogen initiatives.
