NCP chief Sharad Pawar took part in a protest in Chandwad in Nashik district in a protest against the Centre’s decision to ban onion exports till March 31.
Addressing a rally of onion farmers after taking part in a ‘rasta roko’ on the MumbaiAgra Highway, Pawar said, “If the government fails to listen to the farmers, then we have no other option but to hit the road. Farmers are facing many struggles to earn money by cultivating onions. Unfortunately, the policymakers from the central government are not respecting their hard work. Many traders procured onions for exporting to other countries, but even they are in trouble now.”
