Ship carrying 12,700 MT of rice docks at Chattogram Port in Bangladesh from Vietnam


The vessel MV MD SEA has arrived at Chattogram Port with 12,700 metric tonnes of Atap rice from Vietnam, under a G-to-G agreement signed in February 2025. Of the 100,000 MT contracted, 60,000 MT has been delivered so far. Unloading will begin soon following sample testing.
A vessel named MV MD SEA, carrying 12,700 metric tonnes of Atap rice, has arrived at Chattogram Port from Vietnam. The shipment is part of the G-to-G agreement (Package-1) signed on February 3, 2025, according to a press release.
As per the agreement, a total of 100,000 MT of Atap rice will be imported from Vietnam. To date, 60,000 metric tonnes have already been delivered to the country.
The sample testing of the rice aboard the ship has been completed, and the unloading process is set to begin shortly, the release added.
