SLB Ethanol starts work on setting up new distillery unit


SLB Ethanol is setting up a new distillery (fuel grade bioethanol) unit having a capacity of 200 klpd at Thervoy Kandigai village, SIPCOT Industrial Area Gummidipoondi taluka in Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu, reports Projects Today.
The company has completed 5% of the project work so far.
The plant will be set up on 19.94 acres of land and will also include a 5.3 MW co-generation power plant, 112 tpda DWGS dryer unit, and 156 tpd of fermentation unit.
The project will also include setting up a sewage treatment plant (STP) with a 25 klpd capacity.
The project is expected to generate employment opportunities for over 150 persons. The company is likely to complete construction work on the project by Q4/FY24.
