Karnataka, the third largest sugarcane producer in India after Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, cultivates sugarcane on approximately 4.75 lakh hectares. The state grows this cash crop across 16 districts, with Belagavi, Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Mandya, Mysore, Chamrajnagar, and Bidar being the major producers. Sugarcane farming is prevalent in 13 states nationwide.
