Spring wheat harvesting has begun in the US

As of July 27, only 1% of U.S. spring wheat had been harvested, below the five-year average of 3%. Winter wheat harvesting reached 80%, slightly above average. Corn crop conditions declined by 1% to 73% good-to-excellent, while soybeans improved to 70%, up 2% from the previous week.

Last week, spring wheat harvesting began in the United States, reports the Zerno On-Line agency.

According to the National Agricultural Statistical Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (NASS), by July 27, 1% of the area under spring wheat had been threshed, which is less than the average for the same date in the previous five years – 3%.

Winter wheat harvesting by July 27 was completed on 80% of the area, which is 1% more than the average for the same date in the last five years.

The condition of corn crops slightly worsened last week. The share of corn crops in good and excellent condition decreased by 1% to 73%. However, it remains higher than last year.

The share of soybean crops in good and excellent condition increased to 70%, by 2% compared to the previous week and by 3% compared to last year.
