Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market rises
In Thursday’s trading session, sugar stocks saw mixed performances. Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Ltd. (up 2.95%), Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd. (up 1.25%), and Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd. (up 0.79%) were among the top gainers. However, Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. (down 3.56%) and Mawana Sugars Ltd. (down 2.98%) were among the top losers. The NSE Nifty50 rose by 211.9 points, and the BSE Sensex surged by 666.25 points.

Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(down 3.56%), Mawana Sugars Ltd.(down 2.98%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)Ltd.(down 2.64%), Ugar Sugar Works Ltd.(down 2.51%), Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd.(down 2.27%), Sakthi Sugars Ltd.(down 2.03%), KM Sugar Mills Ltd.(down 1.95%), DCM Shriram Industries Ltd.(down 1.84%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(down 1.74%) and Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd.(down 1.68%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 211.9 points up at 26216.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 666.25 points at 85836.12. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 4.69%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 3.15%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 3.07%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 2.97%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.92%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 2.82%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 2.45%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 2.34%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 2.26%) and Nestle India Ltd.(up 2.16%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
