Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises
Sugar stocks were trading higher on Tuesday, with top performers including Sakthi Sugars Ltd. (up 4.82%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Ltd. (up 4.57%), and Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. (up 3.83%). Meanwhile, Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd. (down 0.27%) was among the few decliners. The broader market indices also showed gains, with the NSE Nifty50 up 168.46 points at 24,964.2 and the BSE Sensex rising 489.48 points to 81,539.48 at around 11:24 AM.
NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 11:24AM Sakthi Sugars Ltd.(up 4.82%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Ltd.(up 4.57%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(up 3.83%), Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd.(up 3.50%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)Ltd.(up 3.44%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd.(up 3.42%), Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd.(up 3.27%), Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd.(up 2.94%), Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd.(up 2.74%) and Mawana Sugars Ltd.(up 2.73%) were among the top gainers.
Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd.(down 0.27%) were among the top losers. The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 168.46 points up at 24964.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 489.48 points at 81539.48 at around 11:24AM. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 3.0%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 2.76%), NTPC Ltd.(up 2.24%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.99%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.96%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 1.76%), Cipla Ltd.(up 1.61%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 1.59%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 1.52%) and Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.51%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
