Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as Sensex advances
In the latest trading session, several sugar stocks saw gains, including KM Sugar Mills Ltd. (up 0.44%), Sakthi Sugars Ltd. (up 0.36%), and Ponni Sugars (Erode) Ltd. (up 0.34%). However, Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd. led the losses with a decline of 4.55%. On the broader market front, the NSE Nifty50 was up by 89.2 points at 24,546.35, while the BSE Sensex rose by 330.98 points to 81,176.73. Among the top gainers in the Nifty pack were HDFC Life Insurance (up 2.24%), SBI Life Insurance (up 1.8%), and HDFC Bank (up 1.68%).

Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd.(down 4.55%), Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd.(down 1.69%), KCP Sugar & Industries Corporation Ltd.(down 1.54%), Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd.(down 1.40%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd.(down 0.90%), Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd.(down 0.67%), Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd.(down 0.67%), Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd.(down 0.16%), Rana Sugars Ltd.(down 0.10%) and Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd.(down 0.05%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 89.2 points up at 24546.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 330.98 points at 81176.73 at around 10:54AM. HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 2.24%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.8%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.68%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.38%), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.38%), Wipro Ltd.(up 1.34%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 1.29%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.09%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 1.0%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.93%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
