Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as Sensex gains

 NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Friday at 10:49AM Sakthi Sugars Ltd.(up 6.25%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd.(up 1.99%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(up 1.75%), Rana Sugars Ltd.(up 1.53%), Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd.(up 1.50%), KM Sugar Mills Ltd.(up 1.30%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)Ltd.(up 1.14%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Ltd.(up 1.13%), EID Parry(India)Ltd.(up 1.11%) and Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd.(up 1.07%) were among the top gainers. Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd.(down 0.86%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(down 0.42%), KCP Sugar & Industries Corporation Ltd.(down 0.39%) and Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd.(down 0.05%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 41.91 points up at 25292.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 232.64 points at 82729.74 at around 10:49AM. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 2.33%), Infosys Ltd.(up 1.75%), Wipro Ltd.(up 1.55%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.36%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.29%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 1.27%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.24%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.2%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.2%) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 1.0%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 2.23%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 1.97%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 1.48%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.44%), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.4%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.28%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.93%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.91%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 0.88%) and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.82%) were trading in the red.
