Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as Sensex gains
Sugar stocks saw gains in early trading, with Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd. up 3.41% and several others also rising, while a few like Sakthi Sugars Ltd. and Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd. experienced slight declines. The broader market also saw positive movement, with the NSE Nifty50 and BSE Sensex indices both up, driven by gains in stocks such as Eicher Motors Ltd., Hindalco Industries Ltd., and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd., while Hindustan Unilever Ltd. and Britannia Industries Ltd. were among the laggards.

Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd.(up 3.41%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(up 2.23%), Mawana Sugars Ltd.(up 2.12%), Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd.(up 1.96%), DCM Shriram Industries Ltd.(up 1.86%), Rana Sugars Ltd.(up 1.85%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd.(up 1.78%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)Ltd.(up 1.69%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Ltd.(up 1.57%) and Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd.(up 1.45%) were among the top gainers.
Sakthi Sugars Ltd.(down 1.39%), KCP Sugar & Industries Corporation Ltd.(down 0.98%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd.(down 0.41%) and Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd.(down 0.17%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 86.05 points up at 23645.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 255.45 points at 77946.4 at around 10:07AM.
Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 7.19%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.14%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.11%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 1.11%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.03%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.03%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.87%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 0.85%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 0.81%) and Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 0.8%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 1.18%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 1.17%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 0.9%), ITC Ltd.(down 0.68%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 0.58%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.58%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 0.5%), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.49%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.49%) and Titan Company Ltd.(down 0.46%) were trading in the red.
