Sugar prices hiked by Rs38 per kg in Karachi


Karachi’s Commissioner has raised sugar prices by Rs38 per kg citywide. Wholesale rates now stand at Rs160, up from Rs122, and retail at Rs163, up from Rs125. A formal notification has been issued, directing all sellers to strictly adhere to the revised official rates, aiming to regulate market pricing and ensure uniformity across the city.
Commissioner Karachi has announced an increase of Rs38 per kilogram in the official price of sugar. A notification has been issued confirming the new rates.
According to the new rates, the wholesale price of sugar has been raised from Rs122 to Rs160 per kg, while the retail price has increased from Rs125 to Rs163 per kg.
This price hike has been implemented across the city, and sellers are instructed to follow the new official rates strictly. Previously, the wholesale price of sugar was fixed at Rs122 per kg, and the retail price at Rs125 per kg.
