Sugar Prices Slip on Forecasts for Rain in Brazil

Kolhapur, Mar 8 (UNI) Agitating Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghtna (SSS) workers on Friday showed black flag to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Vadgaon-Hatkanangale road of Kolhapur district on Friday afternoon.

The workers were demanding the Chief Minister approve the proposal of sugar factories to give Rs 100 per tonne to farmers for last year’s cutting of sugarcane.

The Chief Minister who is on a day visit to the district, was on his way to participate in a function at Kirochi in Hatkanangale tehsil of the district, when the slogan shouting SSS workers showed black flag to him.

They were protesting against the government’s failure to release the second instalment of money for last year to the farmers. UNI SSS BD SSP
