Sugar production in Ukraine in the 2025/26 MY exceeded 1.5 million tons

Ukraine’s sugar industry has processed 10.43 million tons of sugar beets and produced 1.574 million tons of sugar as of January 1, according to the National Association of Sugar Producers. The sugar yield has risen to 15.19% due to higher beet sugar content, averaging 17.63%. Six plants continue operations, with the season likely ending by January 20.

As of January 1, 26 sugar plants that are members of the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine have processed 10.43 million tons of sugar beets since the start of the season and produced 1.574 million tons of sugar. This was reported by the association’s press service.

“The current sugar yield stands at 15.19% (14.16% last season), which is explained, among other things, by the higher sugar content of beets at delivery – 17.63% (+0.88% compared to 2024),” the statement says.

It is also specified that the overall results do not include data from the Horokhiv Sugar Plant, which is not a member of Ukrsugar and does not provide operational information on processing progress.

“Six sugar plants will continue processing raw materials in January. The processing season is expected to be completed by January 20,” the association added.
