Sugarcane farmers to agitate for pending cane dues

Hubbali: Basavaraj Karigar, state president of Uttara Karnataka Raita Kabbu Belegarara Sangha, announced a protest against Shivasagar Sugar Factory for failing to return share amounts and sugarcane dues. The factory in Udapudi, Ramdurga taluk, owes money to 75,000 shareholders and during the auction at NCLT. An all-night protest will be held on July 4 in front of the factory until dues are settled, reports The Times of India.

Hubbali: Uttara Karnataka Raita Kabbu Belegarara Sangha will stage a protest against Shivasagar Sugar Factory for failing to return the share amount, announced state president Basavaraj Karigar, reported The Times of India.

Speaking on Tuesday, Karigar stated that the sugar factory in Udapudi of Ramdurga taluk has not paid the sugarcane dues to the growers during the auction process at the NCLT and has also not returned the money to 75,000 shareholders. He mentioned that the Sangha will hold an all-night protest on July 4 in front of the factory until the dues are settled.
