Sugarcane RSF : Error in ‘RSF’ again
Pune News : If sugarcane growers are getting lower rates as per revenue sharing formula (RSF), they should show the error with evidence. The sugar commissionerate has shown readiness to send a proposal to the state government if there is a need for amendments in the current formula.
Issues regarding errors in RSF have been raised many times in the past. But, it has not improved. This issue sugar commissioner Dr. The farmers of ‘Andolan Ankush’ again appeared before Chandrakant Pulkundwar on Monday (11). Sugar Director Yashwant Giri and Dhanaji Chudmunge were present on behalf of the farmers.
“Farmers should present with evidence about the errors of RSF. The Sugar Commissionerate will give another time for discussion in this regard by the end of this month. If there is a real error in the revenue formula, a correction proposal can be sent to the government,” the Commissionerate said in the discussion.
In addition to FRP, sugarcane farmers in the state are paid an enhanced rate based on revenue income. But, the Sugar Commissionerate has made major changes in the earlier procedure of rate payment last season. New guidelines have been issued for this.
From 2016-17, information was being sought from sugar mills in 11 tables to calculate the amount of RSF. However, now sugarcane is also being used for ethanol. It reduces sugar intake. Therefore, it was necessary to determine the value of the unprepared seeds and bring them to the RSF. A committee was appointed by the Usodar Control Board for this purpose. Now instead of 11, this committee has decided only 9 charts. That is what the farmers object to.
According to the new procedure, the cost of salaries and allowances of the employees of the agricultural department of the factories are being included in the cutting and transportation costs of the farmers. It has also been allowed to deduct interest on loans taken by sugar mills from revenue income for paying FRP .
