Sugarcane should be made available only to sugar mills with good payment history: UP CM Yogi Adityanath

In a comprehensive review on Thursday, he addressed various pressing issues, emphasizing the need to settle all outstanding sugarcane payments before the new crushing season. He directed that only sugar mills with a good payment history should receive sugarcane. The issue of sugarcane payments was a focal point during the elections, with farmer organizations staging several demonstrations.
Following the conclusion of the Lok Sabha elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has swiftly shifted into action mode. During a comprehensive review of administration on Thursday post the Lok Sabha polls, Chief Minister Yogi addressed various pressing issues.
Chief Minister Yogi also issued directives pertaining to the upcoming sugarcane crushing season. He emphasized the necessity for settling all outstanding payments from the previous season before the commencement of the new sugarcane crushing season. Furthermore, Chief Minister Yogi stressed that sugarcane should be made available only to sugar mills with a good payment history.
The matter of sugarcane payment in Uttar Pradesh remained a focal point during the Lok Sabha elections. Farmer organisations staged several demonstrations demanding the settlement of overdue sugarcane payments. Concurrently, the sugarcane department is working to expedite the payment of pending dues to farmers.
