Sukhvinder Jit Singh of Uttam Sugar honored with Bharat Gaurav Ratna Shri Sammaan for remarkable role in sugar and bioethanol Industry

Sukhvinder Jit Singh, Senior VP at Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd’s Shermau unit, received an Honorary Doctorate in the Sugar and Bioethanol Industry and the Bharat Gaurav Ratna Shri Sammaan for his 32 years of contributions. His leadership in operations, research, and sustainability has earned him accolades, including several patents, propelling advancements in India’s sugar and bioethanol sectors.

Sukhvinder Jit Singh’s decades-long dedication to the sugar and bioethanol sectors has been recognized with an Honorary Doctorate in the Sugar and Bioethanol Industry by the Government, alongside the Bharat Gaurav Ratna Shri Sammaan for his outstanding achievements.

Currently serving as Senior Vice President at the Shermau unit of Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd in Uttar Pradesh, Singh brings over 32 years of experience in operations and management across various industries, with a particular focus on the sugar and distillery sectors. His career has seen him make significant contributions, including an Outstanding Achievement Award during his tenure at Punjab State Co-operative, where he helped propel the region’s sugar industry forward.

Singh’s journey took a transformative turn when he shifted from the cooperative sector to the private sector, where he spearheaded innovative ideas and breakthroughs. His work has resulted in the publication of numerous research papers on national and international platforms, and he holds several patents in the sugar and bioethanol fields.

According to the Singh, in recognition of his contributions, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, awarded him the Honorary Doctorate. He also received the Bharat Gaurav Ratna for his pivotal role in the industry’s modernization and sustainability efforts.

Singh’s achievements have been lauded by his colleagues at Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd, M.D Raj Kumar Adlakha and Executive Director S.L Sharma.

Singh’s efforts also garnered praise from local farmers and employees, who are celebrating his recognition. “Our employees, officers, and local farmers are immensely proud of this achievement,” Singh said.

In addition to his accolades, Singh recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Sugar Institute to research alternative feedstocks for the bioethanol industry. This research aims to reduce the industry’s dependency on molasses and grain, opening new possibilities for sustainable bioethanol production.

For Singh, this recognition is just the beginning of further advancements in the sugar and bioethanol sectors, which he believes are key to India’s sustainable future.
