Taiwan bids on 89,650 t of wheat with U.S. origin


The Taiwan Flour Millers’ Association has issued an international tender to purchase approximately 89,650 metric tons of grade 1 U.S. milling wheat. Bids are due by Wednesday, July 16. The tender seeks two consignments from the Pacific Northwest: 44,575 tons for shipment between September 14–28 and 45,075 tons between October 2–16.
European traders reported on Monday that the Taiwan Flour Millers’ Association had issued an international tender for an estimated 89.650 metric tons grade 1 milling grain to be purchased from the United States.
The deadline to submit price bids in the tender is on Wednesday, July 16
The bidder is looking for two consignments of wheat from the Pacific Northwest Coast in the United States.
They said that they were looking for a shipment of 44,575 tonnes between September 14 and 28.
The second shipment of 45,075 tonnes was requested for shipping between October 2-16.
The types of wheat sought are dark northern spring, red winter, and soft white.
The Association’s tenders provide a good indication of the U.S. export price for wheat in Asian markets.
