Tender to set up ethanol plant at Sanjivani sugar factory to be floated within a month: Goa CM

Goa CM Pramod Sawant announced a new tender will be issued within a month to set up an ethanol plant at the Sanjivani Sugar Factory. Farmers are urged to grow sugarcane, with the government assuring crop purchases and continued compensation support.

Goa’s Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant, informed the Assembly that a tender to establish an ethanol plant at the Sanjivani Sugar Factory will be issued within a month.

He mentioned that the tender had been floated twice previously but failed to attract a positive response from bidders. Sawant also stated that a circular has been released urging farmers to cultivate sugarcane, assuring that the government will purchase the crop this year.

He further noted that the government has been providing compensation to farmers over the past five years.
