Jakson Green, a burgeoning renewable energy company, has announced a significant investment of ₹3,500 crore, funded through private equity and non-recourse financing. This infusion will support expansions in solar utilities and green derivatives, including hydrogen, methanol, and ethanol.

With a robust start, achieving 5 gigawatts-peak (GWp) of global solar capacity in under two years, CEO Bikesh Ogra is steering the company into innovative arenas. Notable projects include a 4G ethanol production for a major PSU and pioneering hydrogen and e-methanol projects aimed at industrial applications.

Despite the current high costs of green derivatives, Ogra is optimistic about closing the price gap with traditional fuels, particularly highlighting strategic initiatives to make green methanol and ethanol more economically viable.

Internationally, Jakson Green is exploring opportunities in the Middle East, leveraging competitive electricity costs to expand their renewable projects. Additionally, the company is venturing into green methanol for sustainable marine fuel applications, reflecting its commitment to supporting cleaner energy transitions across industries.

Ogra also detailed financial strategies involving partnerships with development financial institutions and non-banking financial companies, aiming to add 1 GW of assets annually from 2026. This aggressive expansion underscores Jakson Green’s ambition to dominate the global renewable energy market.
