According to the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, the country’s grain harvest in 2025 has increased to 1.98 million tons, which is more than last year’s 1.15 million tons and above the average for the past ten years.
The gross harvest of durum wheat reached 1.24 million tons, soft wheat – 78 thousand tons, barley – 637 thousand tons.
The Tunisian government purchases grain from farmers for the state fund. The purchase price of durum wheat is 1,400 dinars per ton ($486.54), barley – 900 dinars per ton ($308.5). By July 1, 0.51 million tons of durum wheat and 0.24 million tons of barley have already been purchased.
