‘Two-wheelers in UP to now run on blended ethanol fuel’


LUCKNOW: Two-wheelers being introduced now will be compatible with 20% blended ethanol fuel. Senior executives of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said that technology advancements have been made by the industry to handle the increased ethanol content in the fuel.
A lot of two-wheeler owners in the city have been apprehensive about the E20 blending programme under which petrol and ethanol blending will be increased to achieve an 80:20 ratio.
Moreover, to increase its penetration in the state the company introduced its 100-cc bike in the state capital. President, CEO and managing director of the company Tsutsumu Otani said, “Introducing the Shine 100 in UP is not just a milestone for us but a testament to our team’s commitment to innovation, excellence and customer satisfaction.”
Meanwhile, director of sales and marketing of the company, Yogesh Mathur said that 100-cc bikes are the most preferred product in the country as well as in UP.
“Currently our market share in UP is close to 13%. We are confident we are going to surpass the expectations of the commuters with the new product,” said Mathur.
