Ukraine and Egypt have approved a set of concrete steps to stimulate trade in key agricultural commodities, including grain and sunflower oil. This was reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in Egypt.
On July 30, Ambassador of Ukraine Mykola Nagornyy held a meeting with the leadership of the Future of Egypt for Sustainable Development agency. During the talks, both sides reviewed the current state and further prospects for cooperation between the two countries related to increasing exports of Ukrainian agricultural products to Egypt.
“Ukraine continues to be a key guarantor of global food security and confirms its commitment to supporting stable supplies of high-quality agricultural products to the Egyptian market – both through private business and in cooperation with state institutions. The agreed measures are aimed not only at expanding trade volumes, but also at ensuring the efficiency, timeliness and transparency of logistics processes,” the message says.
According to the embassy, Egypt remains Ukraine’s largest trading partner in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. In the first half of 2025, Ukraine exported 1.31 million tons of wheat, 1.06 million tons of corn and 360 thousand tons of soybeans to Egypt. In monetary terms, the total volume of bilateral trade during this period reached $947.9 million.
