Ukraine may harvest 34 mln tons of corn this year — FAS USDA

Ukraine’s 2025/26 corn harvest is now estimated at 34.7 million tons, up 29% from last year, per USDA’s FAS. Wheat is expected at 22.8 million tons, barley at 4.9 million (–10%), and rye at 200,000 tons (–8%). Corn exports are forecast at 28.5 million tons, also up 29%.
The corn harvest in Ukraine in the 2025/26 marketing year may reach 34 million tons. This is evidenced by the FAS USDA assessment, made on the basis of data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on sown areas and yields.
In terms of crops, the expected harvest in the 2025/26 marketing year is:
- wheat – 22.8 million tons (at the level of last year’s indicator),
- barley – 4.9 million tons (-10% compared to the previous season),
- corn – 34.7 million tons (+29%),
- rye – 200 thousand tons (-8%).
“At the time of writing the report, a deficit of soil moisture was developing almost throughout the territory of Ukraine, which may negatively affect the corn yield in the 2025/26 marketing year. The office may reduce its corn yield forecast if the situation persists,” the report says.
The export forecast has also been updated:
- wheat — 15 million tons (–5%),
- corn — 28.5 million tons (+29%),
- barley — 3.2 million tons (+42%),
- rye — 10 thousand tons (–9%).
The previous USDA forecast for the corn harvest in Ukraine was at 30.5 million tons.
