Ukraine ranks second in grain production among EU nations.

Ukraine has harvested 57.6 million tons of grain and 17.3 million tons of oilseeds despite war and harsh weather. Total grain output may reach 60 million tons after corn completion. The country now ranks second in grain production in the EU, driven by strong corn, wheat and sunflower yields and near-complete harvesting.

The Ministry of Economy announced that despite the ongoing war and tough weather conditions Ukrainian farmers harvested 57.6 million tons of grain and 17.3 million tons of oilseeds. After the final corn harvest, the total grain harvest might reach 60 million tons. Ukraine already ranks second in grain production among EU countries, behind only France with 63.1 million tons, and ahead of Germany with 45.2 million tons and Poland with 36.5 million tons.

The ministry also mentioned that Ukraine leads in corn and sunflower production. The average grain yield in 2025 is 5.08 tons per hectare, which is just 14% below the EU average. According to the Ministry of Economy, farmers have already threshed 94% of the areas designated for grain crops and 97.7% of oilseed crop areas. Specifically, the corn harvest is at 26.45 million tons, and wheat is at 22.96 million tons. For oilseeds, the harvest includes 3.32 million tons of rapeseed, 4.81 million tons of soybean, and 9.23 million tons of sunflower.
