Ukraine reduces wheat flour exports and increases its imports

Ukraine exported 48.3 thousand tons of wheat flour in July–March 2025/26, slightly down from last year. EU’s share fell to 35%. Key buyers include Moldova, Palestine, and Czech Republic. Meanwhile, imports rose to 2.3 thousand tons, signaling shifting trade dynamics and changing demand patterns in global flour markets.

In July-March 2025/26 marketing year, Ukraine exported 48.3 thousand tons of wheat flour, which is less compared to 49.8 thousand tons for the same period of the previous season. This was reported by the Flour Mills Union of Ukraine.

The share of exports to EU countries decreased to 35% compared to 44% a year earlier. The main importers of Ukrainian wheat flour remain:

  • Moldova – 14.9 thousand tons
  • Palestine – 9.2 thousand tons
  • Czech Republic – 7.4 thousand tons
  • Israel – 4.4 thousand tons
  • Spain – 4.2 thousand tons

At the same time, there is an increase in imports of this product. Over the nine months of the current season, Ukraine purchased almost 2.3 thousand tons of wheat flour, while over the same period last season, imports amounted to 1.9 thousand tons.
