Dutch power network operator TenneT signed the grid connection agreement with Shell on Friday, amid ongoing congestion problems on the national electricity system.
The deal will see the green hydrogen project — set to be Europe’s largest if it begins operations on schedule in 2025 — connected to the 380kV high-voltage Maasvlakte substation in Rotterdam on a “temporary and limited” basis.
