USDA: Corn use for fuel ethanol production at 456 million bushels in July

The USDA’s September Grain Crushings report shows U.S. corn use for fuel ethanol at 456M bushels in July, up 2% from June but down 6% year-on-year. Overall corn use was 506M bushels. Co-product trends were mixed: corn oil rose, distillers dried grains with solubles declined, while captured CO₂ increased.
The USDA recently released its Grain Crushings and Co-Products Production report for September, reporting that corn use for fuel ethanol production in July was down approximately 6% when compared to the same month of last year.
Total corn consumed for alcohol and other uses was 506 million bushels in July, up 2% when compared to the previous month, but down 6% when compared to July 2024. July usage included 92.2% for alcohol and 7.8% for other purposes.
Corn use for fuel alcohol was at 456 million bushels in July, up 2% when compared to June, but down 6% when compared to July of last year. Corn consumed in July for dry milling fuel production and wet milling fuel production was at 91.9% and 8.1%, respectively.
