USDA: Ethanol exports top 143 million gallons in October
In October 2024, the U.S. exported 143.47 million gallons of ethanol, up from 119.77 million gallons in October 2023, but down from 148.49 million gallons in September. Ethanol exports were valued at $310.02 million. Additionally, 1.11 million metric tons of distillers grains were exported, a rise from September and October 2023, with a value of $277.61 million. Total ethanol exports for 2024 reached 1.53 billion gallons, while distillers grains exports totaled 10.21 million metric tons.

The U.S. exported 143.47 million gallons of ethanol and 1.11 million metric tons of distillers grains in October, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Dec. 5. Exports of both products were up when compared to the same month of 2023.
The 143.47 million gallons of ethanol exported in October was down when compared to the 148.49 million gallons of exports reported for the previous month, but up when compared to the 119.77 million gallons exported in October of last year.
The U.S. exported ethanol to approximately 38 countries in October. Canada was the top destination for U.S. ethanol exports at 50.75 million gallons, followed by India at 20.66 million gallons, and the U.K. at 10.65 million gallons.
The value of U.S. ethanol exports was at $310.02 million in October, down from $378.94 million in September, but up from $299.77 million in October 2023.
Total ethanol exports for the first 10 months of 2024 reached 1.53 billion gallons at a value of $3.49 billion, compared to 1.13 billion gallons exported during the same period of last year at a value of $3.12 billion.
The 1.11 million metric tons of distillers grains exported in October was up when compared to the 1.01 million metric tons exported in September and the 890,463 metric tons exported in October 2023.
The U.S. exported distillers grains to approximately 35 countries in October. Mexico was the top destination for U.S. distillers grains exports at 236,492 metric tons, followed by Colombia at 132,758 metric tons and South Korea at 117,698 metric tons.
The value of U.S. distillers grains exports reached $277.61 million in October, up from $242.15 million the previous month and $247.26 million in October of last year.
Total distillers grains exports for the first 10 months of this year reached 10.21 million metric tons at a value of $2.69 million, compared to 8.94 million metric tons exported during the same period of 2023 at a value of $2.78 million.
