Uttar Pradesh: Ethanol plant inaugurated in Chhata; unit to use stubble for in-house power generation

Allianz Distillery Limited inaugurated a 100 KLPD grain-based ethanol plant in Chhata, Uttar Pradesh, built with an investment of ₹160 crore. The plant will use stubble and crop residues for electricity generation and produce ethanol for petrol blending. It aims to procure maize and rice at fair prices, benefiting farmers and creating local employment.

The ethanol unit of Allianz Distillery Limited, located in Chhata, was inaugurated by the Minister of sugar mill and sugarcane development, Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, along with a representative of the company.

This is a 100 KLPD (Kiloliters Per Day) grain-based ethanol plant, established with an investment of Rs 160 crore.

The plant will procure crop residues such as stubble from farmers and utilize them for power generation.

While speaking to ChiniMandi, Company director Sanjay Sangwan stated that the ethanol produced at the plant will be blended with petrol. The plant is fully equipped with the necessary infrastructure, including an in-house power plant. Stubble will be used for electricity generation.

The director further mentioned that their aim is to procure maize and rice from farmers at fair prices. Minister Chaudhary Laxmi Narayan praised the company’s initiative, calling it highly commendable.

The use of stubble for electricity generation will significantly benefit farmers. The ethanol unit is also expected to generate employment for local youth.
