Uttar Pradesh -Pending sugarcane payments: FIR warning to sugar mills over diversion of sugar sale funds

Sugarcane Commissioner Pramod Kumar Upadhyay has ordered FIRs against sugar mills delaying cane payments or diverting sugar sale proceeds, Live Hindustan reported. Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Rai warned mill management to clear dues immediately, directing that all sugar sale earnings be used solely for farmer payments. Legal action will follow any violations, officials stressed.
Meerut, Uttar Pradesh: Taking a strong stand on complaints regarding non-payment of sugarcane dues and diversion of sugar sale proceeds, Uttar Pradesh Sugarcane Commissioner Pramod Kumar Upadhyay has directed that FIRs be lodged against the sugar mills involved, reported Live Hindustan.
Following these directives, Rajiv Rai, Deputy Sugarcane Commissioner of the Meerut region, issued a stern warning to the management of sugar mills. He instructed them to clear all pending dues without delay.
Rai warned that if any mill is found diverting sugar sale funds instead of using them for farmer payments, an FIR will be registered against them.
He further directed the mills to immediately settle all remaining dues and ensure that all money earned from sugar sales is used solely for clearing cane payments. “Any violation of these orders will result in legal action,” he added.
