Uzbekistan implements new project for production of biofuels from waste
Ferghana will initiate a project to produce granular fuel pellets and bioenergy from bio-waste, utilizing corn waste, straw, sunflower husks, and chicken manure. The collaboration involves the Ferghana district administration, Korea Investment & Securities, the Korea Institute for Climate Change, and Korea Western Power. Initially, $3 million in foreign direct investment will fund fuel pellet production in Furkat, with future plans for bioenergy production.
Azernews reports that a project to produce granular fuel pellets and bioenergy from bio-waste will be implemented in Ferghana with partners from the Republic of Korea.
The raw materials for these pellets will include corn waste, straw, agricultural residues, sunflower husks, chicken manure, and other biomaterials.
The launch of production is facilitated by a memorandum of cooperation signed by the Ferghana district administration, Korea Investment & Securities (KIS), the Korea Institute for Climate Change (KICC), and Korea Western Power (KWP), according to UZ, the national news agency of Uzbekistan.
Initially, the project will focus on producing fuel pellets from vegetable raw materials in the Furkat district, funded by $3 million in foreign direct investment. Subsequently, plans include implementing an investment project for bioenergy production.
