Vietnam to export 7.5 mln tons of rice in 2025

Vietnam plans to export over 7.5 million tons of rice in 2025, mainly from the Mekong Delta region, where around 24 million tons of rice are expected to be produced this year. The country aims to ship 4.53 million tons in the first half of the year, with the remainder to be exported in the second half. Despite a decrease in cultivated rice area and national output, Vietnam is focusing on boosting exports during peak production months.

HANOI, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) — Vietnam plans to export over 7.5 million tons of rice in 2025, mostly from the Mekong Delta region, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
