‘Wheat soaked due to lifting delay’

Chandigarh: Haryana LoP Bhupinder Hooda on Tuesday blamed the BJP-JJP government for less procurement of wheat and mustard, delay in the crop’s lifting, and acute lack of arrangements. Hooda said lakhs of metric tones of wheat in mandis got wet in the rain due to the negligence of the government. “The meteorological department had repeatedly warned of rain. Despite repeated demands by the Congress, the government neither arranged for the lifting of the crop from mandis nor provided tarpaulin and bags to protect it,” he said.
