Zimbabwe Receives Maize Relief From Rwanda
Rwanda has donated 1,000 tonnes of maize to Zimbabwe to alleviate the effects of El Niño-induced drought. The assistance comes after President Mnangagwa declared the 2023/2024 agricultural season a disaster due to poor yields. Foreign Affairs Minister Ambassador Frederick Shava announced the imminent arrival of the maize, praising Rwanda’s solidarity and the spirit of ubuntu shown by President Paul Kagame and the Rwandan people. The donation aims to address the challenges posed by the drought and support Zimbabwe’s food security efforts.
