‘Farmers will help BJP win 80 seats in UP’
Lucknow: Farmers are expected to play a decisive role in fulfilling’s target of winning all 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP and making Narendra Modi the PM for the third consecutive time. State BJP functionaries say the initiatives undertaken by its double-engine govt have placed the welfare of farmers at the forefront of governance. From ensuring free electricity for irrigation through tubewells to ensuring fair payment for sugarcane and the establishment of new sugar mills, govt’s commitment to farmers is evident.
This proactive approach is expected to resonate with the electorate, particularly the farmers who have benefited from govt’s schemes, the party claims. The policies have not only increased farmers’ income but
have also fostered self-reliance and prosperity in them. “They will remember these farmer-centric policies and their positive impact on their livelihoods,” the party says. Govt not only formulated schemes and policies for the farmers but also ensured their implementation. He specially pointed out how govt has taken significant steps for sugarcane farmers, leading to a substantial increase in
their income. Under this, state govt has facilitated payment of about Rs 2.50 lakh crore in sugarcane prices from 2017 till now. “Not only this, in the past 7 years, state govt has increased the sugarcane support price by Rs 55 per quintal. This has made sugarcane farmers in the state self-reliant and prosperous,” say BJP workers.
