USDA: Ethanol Exports To 214 Million Gallons In April
“U.S. ethanol and distillers grains exports surged in April 2024, with ethanol reaching 214.2 million gallons and distillers grains totaling 970,164 metric tons. Ethanol exports soared to over 40 countries, led by Canada, the U.K., and India. Export values rose to $477.09 million for ethanol and $1.49 billion for distillers grains. Mexico, Indonesia, and South Korea were top destinations for distillers grains. Compared to April 2023, exports for both products increased.”
The U.S. exported 214.2 million gallons of ethanol and 970,164 metric tons of distillers grains in April, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on June 6. Exports of both products were up when compared to April 2023.
The 214.2 million gallons of ethanol exported in April was up when compared to both the 159.31 million gallons exported the previous month and the 125.68 million gallons exported in April 2023.
The U.S. exported ethanol to more than 40 countries in April. Canada was the top destination for U.S. ethanol exports at 62.34 million gallons, followed by the U.K. at 34.24 million gallons, and India at 10.3 million gallons.
The value of U.S. ethanol exports reached $477.09 million in April, up from $361.08 million in Marc and $332.02 million in April of last year.
Total ethanol exports for the first four months of this year reached 662.5 million gallons at a value of $1.49 billion, compared with 479.8 million gallons exported during the same period of last year at a value of $1.29 billion.
The 970,164 metric tons of distillers grains exported in April was down when compared to the 1.06 million metric tons exported in March, but up from the 777,617 metric tons exported in April 2023.
The U.S. exported distillers grains to approximately three dozen countries in April. Mexico was the top destination for U.S. distillers grains exports at 233,715 metric tons, followed by Indonesia at 126,042 metric tons and South Korea at 123,042 metric tons.
