Monsoon covers entire India today, six days ahead of schedule: IMD
The Southwest Monsoon has covered all of India as of July 2, 2024, six days ahead of the usual date, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). It advanced into the remaining parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab. The monsoon arrived in Kerala and the northeastern region earlier than usual on May 30. The IMD also predicts above-normal rainfall for India in July.
The southwest monsoon has now covered the entire country, six days before the normal date of covering the entire India.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab today, the 2nd July 2024. Thus, it has covered the entire country on 2nd July 2024, against the normal date of 08th July.
The monsoon arrived in Kerala and the northeastern region on May 30, two and six days earlier than usual.
The IMD on Monday said India could experience above-normal rainfall in July.
